In celebration of International Women’s Day, Stripe’s data science, engineering and product management teams have come together to host a small virtual event to recognise Women in Technology. You will hear stories from this growing female community of Stripe's and a guest panellist from Trainline, Chief Technology Officer Milena Nikolic. Emma leads Stripe’s product engineering teams in London including our expansion efforts, Issuing, bank transfers and supporting the infrastructure of the GPTN. Prior to Stripe, she led the product, engineering and design teams at Charlotte Tilbury scaling the team from zero to 40+ people. Before that, she spent 8 years at Google, across various roles including working as product manager, technical lead and engineering manager (not simultaneously!). Outside of Stripe, she enjoys looking after her 1 year old son, running and reading.
Lola is part of the Product Strategy & Operations team for EMEA and Paystack (Stripe's acquisition in Africa). Since joining Stripe, she has supported product and business strategy to accelerate Stripe's growth in Africa. Before Stripe, Lola was a Product Manager at Deliveroo and is also a former consultant. In her spare time she makes pottery, attempts to get better at tennis, and explores new restaurants in London.
Milena is a CTO at Trainline, where she runs a team of 400+ technologists focused on enabling greener travel choices, connecting people and places. Before that she has spent more than a decade at Google, working as an engineer and an engineering leader across a number of different product areas - most recently as an Engineering Director for Google Play Developer Ecosystem. Milena has a passion for building empowered and efficient tech organisations, robust and innovative technology and delightful customer experiences.
Neha is the Engineering Manager for the Banking Integrations and Payouts team. She joined Stripe 2.5 years ago as one of the first engineers hired in the India team and moved to London last year. She moved from individual contributor role to manager at Stripe. Before Stripe, she was an engineering lead at Flipkart, an ecommerce company in India, where she led their InsureTech team. Outside work, she enjoys travelling and playing board games.
Sophie was the first data science hire in Dublin. Her favourite thing about being a data scientist is getting to work on a huge variety of business problems, and using analysis and machine learning to solve them. Over the last 2.5 years, Sophie has helped Stripe; protect both our customers and Stripe itself from security abuse and threat attacks; Better understand and adapt to the global pandemic, preventing credit risks and optimising the way we work as a company; Anticipate and help solve our customers’ problems, improving their user experience when they contact Stripe Support. Sophie’s hobbies include deep learning and NLP, reading, sport and binge watching The Office.
